Clause intent, role, and context are things models can’t reliably infer on their own. What’s obvious to a trained reader is exactly what AI needs to be taught through human judgment.

What This Task Is
The Legal Classification Quest is a set of 10 short text classification tasks. Each prompt presents a single clause from a real contract or agreement. Your job is to identify what type of clause it represents based on the role it plays within the document.
What You’ll Do
Step 1: Read the contract excerpt carefully.
Step 2: Consider the role the clause plays — is it defining confidentiality, termination conditions, payment terms, liability, or something else?
Step 3: Select the option that best matches the clause type.
Step 4: Submit your answer and move to the next task.
Read each excerpt carefully. Legal language can be dense, but focus on what the clause is designed to do within the agreement. Choose the single most accurate answer.
For each paragraph:
- Read the full passage first to understand the context
- Go sentence by sentence and identify a factual claim
- Highlight the sentence and click Submit (include the punctuation)
- Repeat this process until all factual sentences in the paragraph have been identified
Every paragraph includes at least one correct answer, and some include more than one. The task will guide you on how many factual sentences there are, so take your time to identify them all.
