The newest Perle Labs task is here! Today, we’re introducing AudioQuest, a project that helps train AI to understand spoken language with greater clarity, nuance, and human context.
Speech models can only improve when they learn from real voices, recorded in natural environments by real people. AudioQuest brings contributors into that process by adding the human layer needed to help AI systems interpret not just words, but tone, pacing, and the natural rhythm of human speech.
By contributing your voice, you reinforce the human layer AI systems need and support the development of stronger, more accurate audio models.
What This Task Is
AudioQuest is a set of 10 short audio tasks. Each one asks you to read a short English script aloud. You can record as many times as you need before pressing submit.
These recordings support models that rely on high quality speech data, from voice instruction systems to tools that recognize everyday spoken patterns. All submissions go through a QA review window, and points are rewarded if your recording passes the quality check.
What You’ll Do
For each of the 10 tasks, you’ll read a short English script and record your clearest take.
- Keep your audio clean and free of background noise
- Speak naturally with steady volume and pace
- Stay close to your microphone for the best quality
- Use your device mic or a higher quality one if you have it
You can replay your take and re-record as many times as you want. When you’re ready, press Submit Recording, then confirm the final submission. You should see “QA Pending” on the task, which means it was submitted correctly.
Why This Matters
Every audio sample helps train AI systems to better understand real human speech. These models need to learn how people communicate in everyday conditions. Slight variations in tone, clarity, and pacing play a major role in how accurately a system can interpret voice commands.
By contributing to AudioQuest, you help build the human layer that AI cannot learn on its own. This adds diversity, nuance, and authenticity to the dataset and helps move AI toward better real-world performance.
